Saturday (22/06/2024) at 11 am, we visited Low's family at Kampung Lee Kong Chian.
Mdm. Low was at home waiting with her brother, sister, and elderly mother. My teammates for this project are my siblings, S.Ru, S.Yi plus my mother. I collected the provisions kept at the Tadika and we brought the provisions to the Low's family. My task was to take photographs to keep the sponsors updated.
Upon entering the house, my mother who came along, also assisted us with photography especially when we gathered for group photos. On behalf of all sponsors, we delivered the RM 100 financial contribution.
Mdm. Low showed us around her home and with permission, we took some photos.
Next, we spent some moments getting to know their difficulties.
About the family:-
Mdm. Low looks after her mother who is over 80 ++ years old. She is also very thin. She has been bedridden for three years+ due to a fall. Despite subsequent surgery, she is still unable to leave her bed. Mdm. Low's eldest brother has a brain condition- that cannot be operated on, and as a result epilepsy rendered him unable to hold a job. A younger sister who has diabetes.
Previously, in our last visit, the younger sister hid in her room, feeling "inferior" and afraid to see us, but today, she was sitting in the living room waiting for our arrival. This is because she feels your genuine Care for them as they have been receiving provisions without conditions.
Mdm. Low herself has been treated for cancer. She sadly related to us a helpful brother who had since passed away after a road accident. He was the brother who did odd jobs when he was alive. He would secure job about one a week or once per month. However, sometimes he could not find any job due to age. This brother was the one who helped to take all of them to hospital to keep up with the appointments.
Sadly, their only brother who was able to work through part-time and who supported them, had died in an accident. Two of their older sisters who are married no longer communicate with the family. They depend on neighbours and good Samaritans like you.
She received the provisions with gladness. After about 30 minutes, it was time to say goodbye.
