(KYCO-CSP)
Reaching Out through the Power of SINCERE HEART with Kind and Caring LOVE and SERVICE
Who We Are
About KYCO-CSP
KYCO-CSP is a charitable arm of the Trust Fund of the Kuan Yin Contemplative Order (KYCO), that began about 30 years ago with a desire to support the poorest and most vulnerable communities in dire need for food, financial help and caring assistance.
We are primarily engaged in charity works that support the down and out groups and families to help them get out of their difficulties and back on their feet again in a practical & sustainable way in 6 Focus Areas of:
1. Welfare, Food & Provisions
2. Educational Assistance & Mentoring
3. Vocational Skills Training
4. Aid & support to Shelter Homes
5. Disaster Relief Aid
6. Special Adhoc Projects
KYCO-CSP is 100% run by Volunteer Helpers comprising KYCO Members, Friends and many ex-Aid Recipients & students in the CSP Education Program whom KYCO-CSP have helped in the past and now have found great joy in giving back and spreading the love and help they have received.
Volunteers continue to give their time, money, resources and skills to the less fortunate with the sole aim to give unconditionally, care and serve selflessly with sincere hearts of love.
In caring and serving, we in KYCO-CSP are guided by our Kuan Yin Contemplative Order (KYCO) Precious Teachings that call for the need for cultivating compassionate love & caring service to relieve the suffering of mankind caught with painful changes in these challenging times.
As our Sifu Kuan Ming has urged us to:
“Be someone who can help as many people as possible.”
“Know that the True Purpose of human existence is about learning to Render Caring Service and Help to those who are less developed or fortunate than you.”“We need to make use of the Kind and Caring Heart to be of help to others. Radiating Loving Kindness to all beings without exception and performing Devotional Selfless Service to those in suffering without discrimination or differentiation.”

KYCO-CSP Mission: Compassion in Action
KYCO-CSP Charity Projects are inspired and guided by our Kuan Yin Contemplative Order (KYCO) Teachings to cultivate a Heart of Compassion with Wisdom Mind by performing acts of love sincerely and wisely.
We are learning to put to practice to care with a kind & caring heart and to sincerely help serve with humility.
Our deep wish is to be able to give Hope, Spread Love, Joy, Peace & Inspiration in every act of kindness and caring service rendered.

These are the ideals as we render help and caring service to those in difficulties, when giving relief aid, food and provisions to the needy, educational assistance and mentoring for children from dysfunctional homes, support the disadvantaged to improve their livelihoods and to encourage families to get back on their feet again soonest.
KYCO-CSP Core Programs
KYCO-CSP has over the years reached out to many less fortunate groups and will continue to reach out to the poor and hungry, those with little opportunities in life and those who have fallen through the cracks of society and in dire need of financial and relief aid to tide over their difficulties so as to brighten up their lives and uplift livelihoods.
Our Charity Programs are split into 6 key Pillars:
KYCO-CSP Core Programs: At a glance
Welfare, Food & Provisions
For over 10 years, KYCO-CSP continues to contribute food, provisions and small compassionate cash aid to regularly to over 70 urban poor families to relieve them during their hard times.
These are vulnerable families who have little means to feed their families as they face destitution as a result of loss of income, inability to work, disabilities, illness, old age and abandonment by families. These families often have one or more members who are aged, infirm and some with mental illness and/or physical challenges.
Families with mental health issue continue to form a significant portion of the beneficiaries in this program.
In recent years, destitute urban families helped by KYCO-CSP grew rapidly due to worsening economic situation brought on by the Covid Pandemic and increasing natural disasters, in chiding floods. Thanks to your contributions, these families receive regular Food & Provisions Distribution.
The bigger kids under KYCO-CSP Education Program including the younger kids are also being roped in to prepare the provisions for distribution to needy families who are worse off or in no better economic position than them. They learn good values such as being caring & helpful.

Educational Assistance and Mentoring
KYCO-CSP puts a high priority on education of the young as that is key to help families to break out the chain of poverty, enabling better job opportunities, improve livelihoods and self sufficiency.
For past 12 years, we provide back to school aid and supplies, render educational assistance for the forsaken or abandoned children from lower income families, single care givers or dysfunctional families who have fallen on hard times. Some children whom we help were school drop outs and at risk of social problems. Some were left with grandparents with no economic means.
Partnering with an education centre, we keep them from dropping out of school, and to prevent them from falling into bad company and social ills.
We provide compassionate care, instil moral values, foster discipline, nurture academic progress and preparing them to be responsible, filial children and caring adults.
Our CSP volunteers act as mentors to these children by providing them tuition, supervision, loving guidance, inspiration and nurturing their potentials
The first batch CSP Edu Program students have been with the Program and nurtured for 12 years. Several have performed well in their studies, won a place and scholarship to enter colleges and have grown to be responsible, helpful and rather confident young adults. They are in turn inspiring and supporting the new and younger children who came into The Program.
Some of them have learned to return kindness to others with respect. A fine example is QN. A student under our Education Assistance Program, whom we have nurtured for 7 years from a young kid (of a single mother of 4) to a scholarship student now studying for her Bachelor degree in Accountancy at TARUMT. She has grown into a young caring CSP Student Committee Leader together with the older kids, they are now also mentoring the younger CSP kids and take charge of some food distribution projects regularly by KYCO-CSP.

Vocational Skills Training
We recognize that Vocational Skills Training are empowering and able to lift livelihoods. We provide practical training and impart productive skills to the B40, those disadvantaged by lack of skills, low education and especially families who need to stay home to look after their young family & OKU members.
Over the years, we have provided them with equipment, tools, such as sewing machine and training in areas of tailoring & sewing, bakery, rug/bag making and farming. These skills enable them to generate extra income to better support the family.
In the Rug/ Bag Making Project, single mothers and those from poor families were taught rug and bag making and were able to sell the handiwork to help supplement the family’s income.
These skills also help them to build self-reliance & confidence.
Aid & Support to Shelter Homes
KYCO-CSP recognize the compassionate work carried out by Shelter Homes who take in pitiful orphans, old folks, OKU & mentally unstable children & adults who were either abandoned in hospitals, neglected by their families or living on the streets or are sent by guardians who are unable to manage them while striving to earn a livelihood.
We offer support by visiting these Shelter Homes by bringing cheer & financial aid to help defray their expenses for upkeep of the Centre and also providing groceries & cooked food for residents.
CSP-Education Students will often join in the Shelter Home visits by exposing them to the difficult realities of life, getting them to learn to spread a bit of cheer & comfort to those who have lost the family love and have nowhere to call home.

1. Covid-19 Relief Program
Since 2020, as Covid Pandemic crisis has hit hard our country and the world, devastated our economy and continue to wreck livelihoods, causing untold suffering to millions of families, KYCO-CSP has readily reached out to the severely affected families.
Through our Covid-19 Relief Volunteer Team, we have also undertaken a major task to work closely with the Hospital Medical Frontliners. This is by way of supporting them with the much needed food and medical supplies to bring a little comfort as they tirelessly fight the Pandemic non-stop for over 2-3 years
2. Flood Relief Program
In times of natural disastrs such as big floods, KYCO-CSP also join in the disaster relief efforts & come to the aid of distraught families who have lost their homes, basic amenities and suffering from hunger and cold.
In the recent big flood of Dec 2021 in M’sia, KYCO-CSP has immediately reached out and responded to the dire plight of families whose homes were destroyed and in critical need for food, water & basic necessities.
We have indentified the most needy families who lived further inland, who were cut off from mainstream donated food supplies. Due to poor accesibility, we relied on boats & 4WDs and trucks, and were able to reach them in time to deliver ready to eat food, blankets, towels, stoves and rice cookers.
We could not have done much on a big scale, but the little help of critically needed food and basic necessities that managed to reach the most needy during their most dire moments have saved many from hunger and cold, brought many smiles, a bit of comfort, hope and a positive spirit needed to rebuilding shattered lives and restore their families and homes back to normal.

Special Adhoc Projects
1. Brighten-A-Home Project
The condition of families afflicted with mental illness is often reflected in their homes which have become unsightly, neglected, unsanitary and malodorous.
In our Brighten-A-Home project, the selected families of those severely hit are given a home makeover by the KYCO-CSP volunteers, CSP youth members, well-wishers and fellow neighbours who painted, scrubbed, cleaned, provided functional furniture.
Restoring a clean and brighter home have clearly brought a heartfelt sense of dignity, love, pride, joy and well-being to these neglected members of our society.
