KYCO CSP Career Guidance Workshop 2026

On 16 May 2026, the KYCO CSP held the first session of its Career Guidance Workshop at Tadika Wawasan Tiga, attended by 13 junior students, all mentor teachers, and 7 senior students who provided peer support.

The workshop reinforced the message that education and ambition can break the poverty cycle. Students were encouraged to seize available opportunities, study diligently, limit distractions like computer games, and take personal responsibility for their futures.

The primary objective of the Workshop was to equip students with a structured thought process for career decision-making. Key factors discussed included personal interests & passion, natural talents, values, job market trends, salary and growth potential, educational pathways including entry requirements based on SPM Results, costs and funding, and work environment.

Three presentations were delivered:

🔺Accountancy As A Career (by Philip Goh, an Accountant by Profession)

🔺IT (Information Technology) As A Profession by Delvyn Lwee Thong Jin, IT Fraud Risk Specialist with a Singapore owned company

🔺My Journey From SPM To Pursuing Accountancy By Queenie Ng, CSP Senior Student & President of CSP Student Committee, currently pursuing ACCA at TAR UMT

During the presentation, the students noted that Accountancy include the fields of Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Tax Accounting and Audit & Assurance Services.

IT include the following majors: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Science & Analytics, Information Systems / Business IT, Networking & Cloud Computing.

An interactive live poll quiz via mobile phones generated high engagement among students, seniors, and teachers.

Students were reminded to study hard and work towards getting good SPM Results. As motivation, they were informed that their seniors who achieved 3As, 5As, 7As and 9As secured scholarships and sponsorships for their further studies in Universities. The students were introduced to PTPTN (Goverrnment) loans as a funding option.

The next workshop session will focus on TVET pathways (e.g., Culinary & Pastry Skills, Automotive Technology), including a planned site visit to a polytechnic or school.

The session concluded with a KFC meal for all attendees.
