Monthly Hot Meals (Jan–June 2025): Supporting Forgotten Lives in Mental Health Care Centers

Community Service Project of KYCO : Cooked Food for those with Mental Health illness (January - June 2025)

For the past two years, since our visit to the 3  Homes,  our Community Service Project (CSP) has been  providing cooked meals to the residents struggling with mental health issues once a month. These men and women, young and old, who are often  marginalized and forgotten by society ( in most countries too) , are residing in these Shelter Homes (- outskirts of KL  city ), that offer them a safe haven.

Many of these residents have been separated from their friends & relatives, -  with relatives often untraceable/ unknown. For a fortunate few, family members continue to contribute a modest sum, typically between RM 300 and RM 600, to ensure their safety and care within the confines of a 50 ft x 30 ft space. This space serves as their  "home," providing a roof over their heads and a bed, a stark alternative to life on the streets. It's a place where they are protected from harm, and where, if needed, others are protected from them.

Your contributions of cooked food is not just an added variety of diet for them, but also a much-needed sense of cheer to these individuals. Beyond the direct benefit to the residents, your support also acknowledges the tireless efforts of the caretakers. Their work is often difficult, unglamorous, and involves caring for those who are largely "unwanted" by wider society.  CSP recognizes their dedication and  invaluable human services.

Thank you for supporting his  CSP program. Om Mani Padme Hum..
