Junior Students Educational Visit to Care Home 1, Kota Damansara

A total of 25 CSP Education Junior Students together with their Mentor Teachers had a precious Educational Learning Trip to this Care Home in Kota Damansara
Indeed a valuable exposure learning about life outside the confines of their small home which they have experienced and recognized during their post-trip reflection. They saw the hard reality of life, seeing the old residents, some were unwell, hardly smiling and needing feeding. They have also come to understand the interdependence between people as they learn to be present for the Residents, sitting and accompanying them, sharing some warmth and joy by singing, and distributed the food that were cooked and cakes for the occasion and even got the opportunity to learn to care by patiently feeding those unable to feed by themselves
This Care Home houses patients who are recovering and on rehabilitation post-stroke, cancer and neuro issues. They were placed there by their children who are working and unable to manage their condition and there are also no one at home looking after them during this crucial recovery period. Moreover some children could not afford hiring a full time helper.
With a sense of responsibility and filial piety, they could not neglect nor abandon their parents needing care and assistance for recuperation.
Their children contribute Rm 1500-2500 monthly towards the Home and usually after 6-9 months most residents are able return home when they can walk and regain some strength to manage on their own
On behalf of the Junior Students, KYCO-CSP wish to express our deep gratitude for your kind sponsorship, helpful assistance and support. The delicious food that was distributed to the Residents were cooked by a few caring CSP Members and cakes were also sponsored
The Educational Trip continued with lunch to a nearby mall when the CSP children were treated with burgers and ice cream, also sponsored by two kind CSP Members.
They also enjoyed a visit to an aquatic fish pet shop before they were happily sent home by their CSP Teachers.
Our deepest Gan Ern to all including the Teacher Mentors who have successfully organized this Meaningful Outing.
