KYCO-CSP Collaboration with Bukit Beruntung Shelter Home
19 May 2026
Providing a SAFE HOME and LIVEABLE SPACE for Abandoned Children and Elderlies
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Following the KYCO-CSP Team’s second visit to the Bukit Beruntung Shelter Home on 12 May 2026, there were 3 immediate needs that were identified. Briefly:
1. The Teaching of Conversational Mandarin and other practical living skills by Senior Students under The CSP Education Assistance & Mentoring Program
2. Help provide essential learning tools like laptops
3. Improve the safety & liveability of the Home
The CSP Team has planned to provide assistance to meet these urgent needs as expressed by the Home. Of immediate priority is the compliance of safety and hygiene standards, which are requirements that are set by the Authorities, apart from the provision of a few basic amenities, as follows:
Mandatory Safety Works
1) Construction of emergency exit staircase
2) Concrete flooring for staircase landing and create a space for outdoor cooking
Basic Fixtures for Brightening the Home and Learning Tools
1) 12 units double decker metal bed frames so that children do not have to sleep on floors
2) 12 units single door lockers for storing personal belongings & open wardrobes for the Children & Elderlies
3) 2 laptops for online learning, including the learning of Conversational Mandarin and other life skills
It is most heartening that The Student Committee of the CSP Education Project has enthusiastically stepped forward & expressed their desire to help the Shelter Home, to bring joy to the orphans and abandoned children, providing other needed skills to improve their lives and a better future just like the care and kindness they have gratefully received from The CSP Education Program which has shaped and nurtured them for the last 15 years.
They are keen to LEAD the Shelter Home Project by taking charge of the planning for the above mentioned needs. In the coordination and execution of the tasks, they will be actively guided and mentored by CSP Members, as follows:
Bro Patrick Yap, CSP Education Assistance & Mentoring Program Lead
Bro Philip Goh, as overall Project Advisor and Co-ordinator for the Home
Sis Jade Young, Advisor and Co-ordinator for Brightening and making the Home safe and conducive
Yem, Advisor for Conversational Mandarin Program
In addition, Ms Karthi, from Rawang, who has been a long time Caring Friend and Helper of CSP will also continue to help in the Project
We sincerely welcome anyone to join the program which is expected to take about 4-5 years to complete in view of several other activities in consideration that can help to promote the financial sustainability of the Home and uplift the lives of these unfortunate young lives.
We also welcome your kind generosity in contributing towards securing the above mandatory safety works and essential amenities
We look forward to your kind assistance and contributions of any amounts to help kickstart the Project
